1. Work schedules for full-time employees shall be arranged so that employees shall have consecutive work days each week, and no regularly employed worker shall be given partial day assignments except those employed for four (4) or five (5) hours per day.
2. Split shift schedules shall be avoided.
3. There shall be no staggering of time of any employee at any time for the purpose of eliminating overtime.
Relative to Articles VIII and IX, the union and the employer may mutually agree in emergency situations or under unusual circumstances to alter the normal work week or work schedules to deal with the emergency situation or unusual circumstances.
4. When School is Not in Session.
On a regularly scheduled day when school is not in session, custodial
employees will be assigned to work the day shift, except those employees
who normally work on a night shift at the middle school and high school
when school is not in session and those employees needed in the judgment
of the employer to perform necessary duties due to activities in the schools
during that period of time or thereafter. In the case of the need for special
night assignment during such period, volunteers will be scheduled first
with seniority used as a determining factor when insufficient volunteers
are available.
5. Prior to the initiation of any building-wide development of custodial personnel, the employer will discuss changes with the Union.
