The following vacation schedule of entitlement is in effect and effective
from January l, 1986, and thereafter until changed by Board action:

An employee may utilize up to two (2) single days in addition to any deferred vacation days for vacation purposes. The anniversary date for all vacation time will be January l of each year.
The following procedure shall be used in scheduling vacations. Vacations may be taken at any time during the calendar year. Each year during the month of December the administrator in charge of custodians shall circulate a vacation calendar for the next calendar year among the custodial employees. Employees within each building in the order of their seniority shall mark on the calendar the days they wish to take as vacation during the next calendar year. An employee may later change his or her scheduled vacation time provided it does not conflict with the maximum number of employees that may take vacation at the same time in that building.

In addition, the custodial engineer and assistant custodial engineer
at the Middle School and at the High School cannot take vacation at the
same time.
No vacations will be granted during the last five (5) working days of the school term, the last five (5) working days of summer break or the first five (5) working days of the school term. Exceptions to the above restrictions may be made in the case of emergencies or in unusual or unexpected situations, subject to the approval of the administrator in charge of custodial services.
An employee who resigns or retires giving twenty-one (21) days notice shall be paid for all existing accrued vacation time.
