We came back to school after
our vacation and found a box. In it was Addey. We took her right out because
she was suffocating and gave her some air. She is much better now and enjoying
our class
but she is very quiet.
February 29
We went outside to observe the
weather using our eyes, ears, nose and hands. Addey came with us. Later,
she watched us at Gym and wished she could join in. We took her to our
Buddies and she helped us do a Dr. Seuss follow the dots. We signed a petition
to "Save the Whales" and Addey was
proud that we did that.
March 1
Addey watched us make our wind
flags and listened to the story "Wind" by Ron Bacon. Then we made our own
Big Book to go along with the story and Addey loved the pictures we drew.
We had a fire drill in the afternoon and left Addey in the room by mistake.
We felt awful! Luckily it wasn't a real fire. We told her we were very
sorry.
March 2
Addey came outside with us when
we took our wind flags to see how strong the wind was. Our flags were blowing
hard. When we came back to our rooms we celebrated Read Across America
Day in honor of Dr. Seuss's birthday. We made hats and listened to many
stories. We did a Dr. Seuss
Word Search, too.
March 3
We will be sad to have Addey
leave us as it was fun having a guest in our room. It was a great week.
Let us tell you a little about Milford. It is located on the shores of
Long Island Sound between New Haven and Bridgeport. It's a super place
to live because of the beaches which we use all summer long. It is a city
of about 50,000 people. There are 9 elementary schools here, 2 middle schools
and 2 high schools. Maybe someday you'll get a chance to visit New England
and can come and meet us.
This was a great project and
we were happy to participate in it. Looking forward to hearing more about
Addey in the coming week. We will miss her.
