Information
September
- Check schedule for correct classes - are all
required courses in???
- Senior credit check/contact with counselor
- If college bound, make sure SAT or ACT scores
are in. If you haven't taken either test, REGISTER!!!!
- Finalize college, vocational or specialty
school applications, sign release form for transcripts to be sent.
- Meet with military personnel if that's the
plan.
- Listen to announcements for scholarship
opportunities.
October
- Take the SAT
- Apply to the colleges of your choice.
- Obtain a copy of "Guidance Notes"
and check for important information. (A copy will be mailed home and
will also be available in the Guidance Office.)
- If unsure as to future plans, take a college
visit, discuss options with your counselor, take an interest test, talk to
college, voc school and military reps during lunch. Attend area
college fairs.
November
- If you didn't - take the SAT or ACT
- Double-check your classes, grades and SAT
scores with the admissions practices of your college choices.
- Check Academic Honors Diploma List, CORE 40
list - is your verification form in??? Without this form, no aid or
recognition.
December
- Check out "Guidance Notes".
- Make plans to attend Financial Aid Night.
January
- Attend the HHS Financial Aid Night.
- Complete FAFSA (Free Application for Federal
Student Aid).
February
- Attend "College Goal Sunday" if you
need help with the FAFSA.
- Mail the FAFSA by March 1 to receive state
aid.
March/April
- Proof Student Aid Report (SAR) for financial
aid.
- Check out "Guidance Notes"
- Prepare for graduation!!!
- Don't stop working yet! Colleges will
request your final transcript and may rescind admission.
