TURKEY
CREEK
Turkey Creek starts in Griffith, Indiana, about 20-25 miles away from where
we live in Hobart, Indiana. Turkey Creek runs through a very industrial
area; this area is well known for its steel mills. The land that Turkey
Creek runs through is made of mostly dirt, clay, and sand. Turkey Creek
also runs through a lot of wooded areas. Turkey Creek is very shallow;
therefore, there is no boating or any other type of water activities that
take place in it's waters. Turkey Creek eventually runs into Hobart's
Lake George and that is where it ends. Taylor, Travis, and Elana monitored
and recorded the data from the Turkey Creek sites. The above picture
are from the site where we test water at. To the naked eye the water doesn't
look so bad but the water quality could definitely use some work.
