Abbey and Addey the Adventurous Pups

Abbey and Addey are stuffed dogs from the second grades at St. Bridget Catholic School in Hobart, Indiana. Abbey is from Mrs. Hernandez's class and Addey is from Mrs. Rowley's class. They are hoping to travel by snail mail to classrooms where they will be cuddled and cared for. During their stay the hosting classroom will talk about caring for pets and select some good pet care tips they would like to share. The hosting class will e-mail their adventures during the week along with their pet care tips.

Students in this project will learn about other schools and places via the Internet. They will also have the opportunity to learn about responsible pet care.

Electronic Munchies

This project will let students discover the different types of food and snacks that children in other places enjoy. Provide map skill experience locating the state or country of the participating schools. It will also provide a classroom recipe book of nutritious snacks.

Each participating class picks a simple nutritious snack that they enjoy. The nutritious snack should not contain an excessive amount of sugar or junk food items. It can be one prepared totally or partially by students. The classes e-mail the recipe, along with a short story to tell us about themselves and when they enjoyed the snack (at a party, as part of a unit of study, etc.) and a picture of the completed snack.
