You are now a Slave Owner!  

• Your task is to write a detailed journal entry for 1 week as a slave owner.

• Create a bibliography of the resources you have used.  You must use a minimum of 3 resources.

• As an introduction to the journal, you will need to write a paragraph including the following biographical information.

          Define your identity:
            -Your name
            -Your age
            -Your occupation (type of plantation you own)
            -City and state where your plantation is located
            -Size of plantation
            -Name and ages of your family members
            -Number of slaves you own
 

• In your journal entries you need to address the following:

            -Your interaction with your slaves
                    -How are problems handled?
                    -How do you supervise your slaves and their work?
            -What tasks do your slaves do?
            -How do you acquire slaves and how much do you pay for them?
            -Do you try to keep families together?  If yes, why?  If no, why not?
            -What are the living conditions for your slaves?
            -If any privileges are allowed to your slaves, what are they?
 

• Following your week-long journal entry, write a one-page summary of your beliefs about whether or not slavery is right.  Also include whether or not you think slavery should be abolished.
