Our teachers are recognized as curriculum and technology experts. Many have been featured presenters at local, state, and national conventions on topics ranging from computer based art to multi-media applications of technology.
The School City of Hobart has 14 teachers that participate in the Indiana Department of Education's program called Technology Associates. In this program, teachers who have developed an expertise in certain areas of technology train other teachers how to use technology in the classroom.
The School City of Hobart has committed itself to the comprehensive and
effective integration of technology by hiring Peggy Buffington, Director
of Technology, who is primarily responsible for the development, coordination,
implementation, and evaluation of the K-12 educational technology instructional
program. She organizes district-wide training and user support meetings
as well as working closely with community leaders. In addition, she serves
on the Board of Directors of the Indiana Computer Educators, an organization
that has over 1,600 members throughout the state.
