The Association of Indiana Media Educators held a District Media Fair on February 27, 1999. Our Hobart schools did very well with 16 of the 21 entered projects placing in First to Fourth Place! George Earle salutes all the participants!
The purpose of our website is to let the world know what George Earle Elementary School in Hobart, Indiana, is doing to bring success to all students. We also use these pages as a platform through which teachers and students become more comfortable with computer-enhanced education.
This is the first year we have devoted the energy and time to create a comprehensive website for our school. In the past, we merely introduced ourselves to the new technology. However, now we see the benefits of resources online and desire to become a part of the technological advancement in education. We have a long way to go, but we hope you will check back often with us to see our progress.
Easy navigation is one of our main priorities. We want our visitors (both internet newbies and old pros) to expeditiously get the information they seek. We have intentionally avoided the bells and whistles which are currently available, because it is important to us that all visitors regardless of their browser capabilities can enjoy our site. Our Intermediate Classes (4th and 5th grades combined) and 5th graders participate in the D.A.R.E. program. Their final assignment is a written essay outlining what they learned from Officer Grissom, our volunteer police officer who teaches the class.
