CALF PEN MEADOW SCHOOL
MILFORD, CONNECTICUT
We are a Kindergarten class from Milford, Connecticut.
Milford is on the shoreline of Connecticut and is between two very large
cities, New Haven and Bridgeport. In the summer we enjoy lots of water
activities.
There are three kindergarten classes at our school. Each
class has eighteen students. Our school has Pre-K through to five grade.There
are 400 students in the whole school.
We have been studying space and especially enjoyed reading
the book, SPACE STORY by Kushin.
Here is our recipe for Planet Salad
Place an orange slice or peach half in the center of plate
as the sun. Children place 8 Cheerios around the sun to represent the planets,
raisin for Pluto, the farthest away.
We hope to send our pictures soon, they are still in Mrs.
Moran's camera.

Amelia Bedelia Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 ounces melted unsweetened chocolate
- 1/3 cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 3/4 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 cup potato chips
Mix thoroughly butter, sugar, egg, chocolate, buttermilk
and vanilla. Stir in flour, soda, salt, and chips. Cover and chill 1 hour.(We
didn't have time to chill but the cookies turned out ok without being chilled.)
Heat oven to 400. Drop by rounded tsp. 2 inches apart
onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 min. Cool and frost if desired.
(Our cafeteria helpers cooked the cookies for us.)
