Apple Smiles
We made apple smiles during our dental health unit. Here
is our recipe:
1. Cut the apples into slices.
2. Take two apple slices.
3. Spread on peanut butter.
4. Put on marshmallows for teeth.
5. Put two apples together to make a smile.
6. Enjoy!

Smiling Pizza Recipe
West School is in the town of New Canaan, which is located
in the southern part of Connecticut. It only takes about 40-45 minutes
to get to New York City from here.
Mrs. Karlson's class of Kindergarten children loves to
cook! We are learning the alphabet and we often eat things relating to
a certain letter. During P week we focused on pizza.We learned some songs
about pizza and made pretend pizzas using paper plates and craft items.
By the end of the week the class was craving pizza! We finished the unit
by making English muffin pizzas.
Here is one of the songs we learned and a recipe by Barbara
Backer.

Smiling Pizza Recipe
Ingredients needed for one pizza face:
- Half of one English muffin
- 1 tbs. Spaghetti sauce
- Shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 slice of mushroom
- 2 slices of an olive
- * slice of pepperoni
1. Spread sauce on the muffin half.
2. Sprinkle cheese over the sauce.
3. Create a face, using olive slices for the eyes, the
mushroom slice as the nose, and the pepperoni as the mouth.
4. Bake at 350 degrees F for 8 minutes or until cheese
begins to bubble.
5. Allow pizza to cool before eating it.
