During the first 4-5 weeks of
Biology all students will complete a series of lab projects which will
help them become familiar with the use of a microscope. They will
be looking at prepared slides, learning to measure different items under
the scopes, make wet mounts for viewing specimens, look at living plant
and animal cells, stain the cells, and properly draw and label everything
they see. Using the microscope properly with the necessary safety
procedures will be the emphasis of this project. I have decided it
would be interesting to put pictures of some of the students on this page
so you, the viewer, will see what they are doing in class, and help future
classes envision what happens in a hands-on lab Biology Class. Enjoy
the pictures!!!!!!!!!
WHAT AN ENJOYABLE CLASS. YOU'D THINK THEY WERE POSING FOR THE PICTURE, WOULDN'T YOU!
To obtain the information about the project and what students will do please check out the following web site which will walk students through their understanding of using the microscope. The student's ability to understand and use the microscope will aid them throughout both semesters as microscope work is included in all projects.
