I graduated from Ball State University (my father was a professor there so we grew up in Muncie) with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education with a Kindergarten endorsement and a Masters degree in Curriculum. 

I have been fortunate to have taught a variety of different areas including Special Education, Second grade, Science for grades 1-4, and Fourth grade.  This year ('05-'06) is my fourth year teaching fourth graders!  Each year I learn more and more about my craft and kids in general!

I moved to Valparaiso from Indianapolis in the summer of 2004 to be closer to my husband (then fiancé) and made some great contacts.  These contacts led me to the School City of Hobart and ended up filling in for two teachers on maternity leave during the previous school year.  That summer (2005) I got married and soon after returning from our honeymoon, found out that I had been hired full time as a fourth grade teacher at Joan Martin Elementary. What a fantastic summer to remember!
