'Eid-ul-Fitr
Festival of Fast-Breaking

'Eid-ul-Fitr is one of the two most important holidays in Islam. At the end of Ramadan, Muslims celebrate the breaking of the month-long fast with the holiday, 'Eid-ul-Fitr, the Festival of Fast-Breaking. The festival lasts three days, but most of the celebration occurs on the first day. This is a happy time where people dress in their finest and attend a community morning prayer service. In some families the children are given gifts, but most Muslims make a special charity gift during this time.
