The Capitol Building is located in Washington, D.C.  George Washington laid the first brick on September 18, 1793.  It took 43 years, 1 war and several architects to build the Capitol Building. British Troops in the War of 1812 set fire to the Capitol on August 24, 1814. Luckily, there was heavy rain and it wasn't damaged completely.

The Capitol Building is used by the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate, and other Congressional offices.

You can see a virtual tour of the Capitol Building at U.S. Senate website.
