First you will be separated
into partners by the teacher. Then you will decide who will be team
member one and who will be team member two.
By using the resources
provided, each team member will gather information about these topics:
Team Member One
Enemies frogs may
have.
How they are able
to protect themselves.
What frogs eat.
Team Member Two
Habitat
Living conditions
Once you have each collected your separate information, you will meet to share it and answer these questions.
1. Where do frogs live, is there a place they don't live at all? What is their habitat?
2. What kind of food(s) do frogs eat?
3. Do frogs have enemies? Are they able to protect themselves?
Write these questions and answers out neatly (one answer sheet for each team) as you will be required to turn this in.
Now you are ready to work together to learn the life cycle. You will, together, visit websites listed on the resource page to learn about the life cycle of frogs. You will need to learn the steps and study the pictures you see. You will be required to label the life cycle on a worksheet.
Once you think you understand the stages of the life cycle, together, go here and print out a worksheet for each partner and label the stages, on your own. You will need to turn this in, so print neatly. life cycle worksheet
Together, you will also need to choose two frogs to compare and contrast using a Venn Diagram. A Venn Diagram is a tool used to compare two or more things. In the space created by the intersection of the two circles, note similarities. In the two outer circles, note differences. You will use the websites listed on the resource page to find information on different frogs. You will list on the Venn Diagram things the frogs have in common and things that are different about them. Print out one copy for each team. Venn Diagram
Your next step is to,
together, go to this life cycle tale, A
Frog's Tale .
Read it and take the short quiz together. Print
the certificate at the end.
Some things you
will need to know:
Remember to let each
page load completely.
Roman Numerals L=50,
X=10, I=1
Click the back button
after typing in answer.
Finally, with all you
now know about frogs, you will be required to read a frog fable and re-write
the ending. Read Christopher
Webtoe And The Great Pond
and rewrite the ending after the ninth paragraph which begins with "Suddenly"
and ends with "He wished he had never tried to find out why." Your
new ending must be at least four paragraphs long. Try
to be creative. You will be sharing this with the class.
